wow, i haven’t blogged on here in a year! a lot has happened; some good, some bad…but life goes on & so shall i 
there’s too much to go over, so i’ll give you the highlights.
moving in with ryan has been wonderful. he also got promoted to volunteer coordinator at work this past fall (yay!) a few friends got married. i’ve met some amazing people online & irl. formed a knitting group appropriately named “also into cats.”

i hate being stressed out. i get myself way too worked up for almost no reason, things even that are beyond my control. i worry before there’s even something to worry about. *le sigh* sometimes i wish i could just shut it off, just relax, chill the fuck out. that’s the hardest thing for me to do sometimes, just relax. do you ever have that problem?
i love art…it most of its forms. i love seeing what comes out of people’s minds and what they create. it’s truly amazing what people are capable of. whether it’s painting, photography, scrapbooking, knitting, or building with legos (i love legos!). my inner artist is always looking for the beauty in things and i’m constantly wanting to learn how to capture that. art makes me happy 
i dunno if i have a sinus infection or what, but my brain is killing me, migraines suck. i just wanna go back to bed…
yeah, so my new meds are making me hyper…wondering if i should wait it out to see if it’s just part of my body getting used to them…i have an excessive amount of energy today…just want to run around and do stuff…or go back to Jen’s and tackle her room…babysitting tonight will hopefully help to wear me out a bit.
my lack of sleep over the last month of so has finally caught up with me. stress will do that do you. i think i’ve spent more time sleeping than awake the past few days. it doesn’t help that today i have the cold from hell. right now i’m curled up in bed with my computer, my cat, and princess bride going in the background. i think i’m gonna lay back down…check you later.
i had an amazing time at renfest this past weekend. headed up to minnesota with karen, rux, benn, adi, rich, megan, kristen, and sam. got to meet benn’s mom, that was fun. she’s a wonderful lady.

welcome to my blog. i haven’t had one in about 5 years now. i never really thought my life was all that exciting. this will probably all be written in a train-of-thought format, so it may not all make sense.
so yeah, my life…woo hoo…um…i guess i could start with the basics…
my name is katey. i live in iowa city and work as an project archaeologist assistant and lab tech for the office of the state archaeologist at the university of iowa (long description, i know). i have an older brother, jack, and a twin brother, ian. i currently live with my folks following my divorce from a control freak. i have ADHD, so expect randomness and mood swings (joy). i’m honest to a fault and have a tendency to ramble on and on about stuff.
anyhoo…so yeah, i’m a big time music junkie. i’m a bottomless pit of useless movie trivia. i love board games & video games. i have a cat named Quinn, she’s cute but psycho and i love her to death. i’m working on getting into the Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in Minneapolis next fall. i LOVE to cook, especially for other people.
i recently went through a breakup and am still getting over it, so there’ll probably be posts relating to that. benn & i are still friends, thankfully.
